So Who Am I?
Hi! Pleasure to meet you, dear reader (though not really ‘meet’ I suppose).
I am 19, from the UK, and most crucially to my personality I am/was/technically still am a Classics student! What exactly do I mean by that? Well, due to health reasons beyond my control I was forced to drop out of my Classics degree at University, but my passion for the subject and desire to stay in the field are still strong. Beyond devoting my time to Classics and Ancient Greek, I enjoy reading fiction, watching video essays, drinking tea, playing Nintendo games and collecting rare books!
And What Is This Blog?
Well due to having a lot of time on my hands as I try to work back into the world of academia, and to fulfil some sort of creative outlet, I have decided to start writing here under a pen-name! Seen as I no longer have deadlines or essays due yet still wish to keep my writing skills sharp, I aim to be posting things on here instead as well as updates on my journey as I try to go back to University as an older student (I will be 21 by the end of the next admissions cycle, which scarily puts me in the camp of mature students). If you, like me, have an interest in anything classical, from philosophy to archaeology to linguistics to ancient texts, or maybe just a general curiosity, feel free to follow along on my journey!
I don’t currently have any ways set up on here to support me financially, as I am hoping my health improves enough to get a part time job while I study. However, if people decide to support my work financially, I am more than happy to set it up. Also, I can’t promise a consistent schedule but if you don’t hear from me in over a month, panic! (please don’t actually)
I hope you enjoy my posts! And hopefully I get better at this blogging thing as I go!
